 Why choose Arts Therapies?

Sometimes it can be difficult to talk about things, or there aren’t any words to express how you’re feeling. The Arts Therapies can be helpful for those with sensory processing and communication difficulties, as well as people recovering from trauma. Trauma recovery often needs to involve the body as well as the mind, and with your therapist you may find it useful to move, be expressive, get messy, make sounds or music, or be silent and still. Children will use all the arts spontaneously as they are developing, and so an arts and play based approach to therapy is natural for children.

The Arts Therapies can help people who find it difficult to communicate verbally, including children and adults who have social emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, those on the Autistic Spectrum, have ADHD, attachment disruptions and difficulties, PTSD, anxiety and other mental health conditions. The Arts Therapies are also suitable for people who  just want to have a go at exploring their thoughts and feelings using an arts-based approach.
